Training & Competing Targets

Welcome to the 2021-22 training season athletes & parents! We are looking forward to another fabulous season of building technique, skills, and capacity taking you to new levels of performance. Training begins September 9th breaks for the holidays, resumes January 7th finishing at the end of May. As a team, we will be targeting for Silver Plus (+) and Gold level athletes a 5km road race in early spring & the Caledon Kid’s of Steel triathlon in May.

Training Locations

Swimming & Dryland are held at Cedar Springs Health Racquet & Sportsclub at 960 Cumberland Ave, Burlington. Running is held at Spencer Smith Park (the Rotary Centennial Pond) from September to December and resumes March to May. Note: sessions may be cancelled due to severe weather.

Training Equipment

Athletes need: a swim suit (jammers for boys, and an one piece suit for girls), fins specific to competitive swimming, well fitted goggles and a small kickboard for swimming; running shoes, shorts and a tshirt for dryland, and appropriate attire is required for running outdoors at Spencer Smith (we run in all temperatures, precipitation and wind conditions unless weather is severe and dangerous).

STEP 1: Select a level of training

New athletes start in Bronze for those 9 & 10 yrs old and in Silver for athletes 11 yrs and older. Athletes are progressed to the next level of training when they have demonstrated competency in technique, skill and have the capacity to move up.

Refund Policy:  jTOEST does not provide refunds. With programs focused on quality, on learning, on athlete’s making significant progress, high athlete turnover rate would compromise coaching and the experience of all athletes. We ask that prior to registering that all commitments, calendars, etc… are reviewed to avoid joining when the risk is that the athlete will miss many sessions and/or the athlete will have to drop out. Once an athlete registers, they have a reserved spot in a lane for the entire duration of the program.
