KICK2START  (8-12 yrs)

Our Kick2Start program is designed for athletes who have the basics of Freestyle (FR), Backstroke (BK) and Butterfly (BK) technique, who want to continue improving these strokes, want to learn the Breaststroke (BR) and are eager to put in the training to swim longer distances.

The Kick2Start program is appropriate for:

(1) Swimmers who have completed the jTOEST Learn2Swim program and have been recommended by their coach as ready to progress to this level of training, and

(2) Swimmers who have completed introductory swim sessions with other clubs, teams, or at City programs. We ask parents to contact aimee@toest.ca to set up a swim assessment prior to registering to ensure your swimmer is placed in the program appropriate for their skill level.

To train at the Kick2Start level, athletes need:

  • a training suit (jammers for boys, and one piece suits for girls),

  • fins specific to competitive swimming (see image), and well fitted goggles are critical.

For dryland, athletes are to have their swim suit on, with shorts and t-shirt over top along with non-marking running shoes.

Kick2Start Training Schedule

Kick2Start has two (2) pool training sessions and one (1) dryland session each week.

2018-2019 Season starts on Friday September 7th

Kick2Start fall session starts Friday September 7th runs to January, and the spring session starts February and runs to Friday June 14th. The cost per session is $730 as a one time payment or two payments of $365. First or full payment is due at the time of registration, second payment is due prior to September 30th.  Kick2Start program runs weekly with the exception of Thanksgiving Sunday, the week between Christmas and New Years, Family Day weekend, March break, and Easter weekend. Refund Policy:  jTOEST DOES NOT provide refunds. With programs focused on quality, on learning, on athlete’s making significant progress, hi athlete turnover rate would compromise coaching and the experience of all athletes. We ask that prior to registering that all commitments, calendars, etc… are reviewed to avoid joining when the risk is that the athlete will miss many sessions and/or the athlete will have to drop out. Once an athlete registers, they have a reserved spot in a lane for the entire duration of the program.
